Love '76

Anybody remember this guy? He was one of the first singers to try and sell his albums on TV.. as his wikipedia entry states "Using a city-by-city marketing strategy, he and his partners began their Love ‘76, Ad campaign on late-night TV in New York, New York on January 1, 1976 targeting all six New York metropolitan channels 70 to 100 times a week. The album, Do I Love You, a two-record set took off slowly at first selling 43,000 copies in New York, Connecticut and New Jersey in 13 weeks. After signing with Private Stock Records, in April 1976 they began the same campaign in Los Angeles and Las Vegas and the album began to sell on an unprecedented level attracting widespread media attention."

Ladies and gentlemen I give you a mood rock experience called Love 76....

It's hard to pick exactly what part of this video I like best..

Could it be the blond looking longingly? Or maybe the narrator talking about "The excitement that is Peter Lemongello on stage" while the guy is barely moving? His leisure suits? The fact that the 8 track tape costs more than the record?

There's just so much here. Watch with wonder. You'll pick up more every time you watch it. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

I don't know about you, but I don't want to know what lurks in the heart of Peter.
